Woerden and surroundings:

Woerden is situated in the surroundings known as “The Green Hart of the Netherlands”.

Woerden is an excellent start for excursions to nearby interesting cities like Amsterdam, Utrecht, Gouda, Rotterdam, Leiden and The Hague. The “Green Hart” of Holland is known as an area with large meadows, tipical bushes, moorlakes, estates and small rivers. A big amount of water- and meadowbirds and tipical plants make the surroundings of Woerden a popular start of walking and bicycle tours.

Woerden has very much to offer. Every Wednesday there is a market in the center with a traditional cheesemarket. In the center you will find shops, pubs and restaurants and historicals buildings.
